Anothe gouache painting, smaller one this time about A4 sized, figured it would fit nicely in a 16" x 12" frame I found in my art cupboard.

popular subject so should be popular at the Exhibition. I like the far stretch of water not sure about the kingfishers legs or the branch it is clinging on to. Sarah  |

I admire your patient careful technique Ken and it's a painting with a lot of appeal.
From a purely personal viewpoint though I feel it's all a bit too busy. It's a question of emphasis if the bird is the main subject then it's better to give a simpler treatment to the background. |
