Hi Sarah, It's rather lonely here these days we seem to be the only two people posting1
I thought i'd better be the first to comment on your nice little waterfall it has been undeservedly neglected. Nicely done I like the suggestion of peaty water typical of a Scottish burn in spate. The only discordant element for me is the intrusive branch lower left. I hve the urge to perch a dipper on it! |

He's a charming little fella Sarah - and I love the soft loose background. It shows off the bird very well. I hope you're going to mount and frame him.

Hello Rob,
Hardly ever frame my works, just put them in a portfolio ...sometimes I put them in mounts for the Village show. If anyone asks if they can buy I say 'no, but give me a donation for Leukaemia Research and you can have it'. This dipper I saw near the stepping stones in the Derbyshire Dales. Sarah |

Hello Dorothy,
Scottish (Skye) waterfall and an English dipper...one taking the high road and the other the low!. Thanks for your comment. Sarah |

Both very nice paintings Sarah. Moving water is a lways a tricky subject but you've got the feeling of movement down well. Like the dipper even more, good clean washes & as Rob says, nicely executed background. |

Hello John,
Thank you for both comments...the spate was painted after observing the waterfall for about an hour (plus a sketch and colour notes) and the dipper's background was meant to convey a misty morning. Sarah |
