Nice colours used Dorothy thssupp I think it needs a bit of finishing with some Hair strokes like you did with your Zebra.

thanks John, I did think of that but it is different pastels and different support so I don't think it would work as well as it did on the zebra, I am going to concentrate on the zebra method in future just got to buy the velour paper B)

It's a nice painting Dorothy thssupp As a non pastel user, I find it difficult to offer any technical advice, but perhaps a little more blending of the features here & there, (such as the black circle around the eyes), so they don't seem to appear quite so stark would help?

A few tweaks could bring this together this. Such as highlight some of the black around eyes to make them look 'wet'. A very minor hint of blue on the top part of the eyeballs would indicate the shadow cast by eye lid. Perhaps a few short strands of fur from chin too.
