Title: Tiger

Have been yeilding the pencils again. This was a very difficult challenge from another forum, but I'm reasonably pleased with the result. I lost track of all the lines and ended up getting confused around the mouth area - I had crosseyes by the time I'd done! Critique welcome as always!

I think you have done an excellent job Sylvia, its a very difficult subject and you are to be congratulated on the result thssupp
there is only one comment I would make and that is the background rather detracts the clarity of your outline ;)

Hi Sylvia
Having attempted a tiger myself I can understand the getting lost in all the stripes.
I think you have done a really good job. Did you impress the lines for the tiger's whiskers?
I would crop it on the left as the neck seems to get thinner and I don't know how you were going to finish the right hand side.
I would say it has been time well spent.

I have to agree I don't think the background does anything for the subject. Now where's that putty rubber :D

I admire your ability with subjects that breathe.
Did you use more than one grade of pencil?

(loveh) Thank you all very much! I agree that the background spoils it somewhat, but to answer Ruth's question, the whiskers were imprinted and I couldn't find any other way to show them clearly. LBM, I used 4b, 7b and 9b pencils, also some 4b graphite stick! Thanks again folks, (loveh) Sylvia

Can only be good for progress Sylvia
Background as stated not too helpful in one respect but helps with the whiskers
