I feel like it's Xmas. :D
I've just had S.Trevena's new book and I can't put it down. I really like the bold colours she uses and the mark making and it's packed with info about colour combinations. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but when you read it as well as look at the pictures it all makes sense.

I just went onto shirley's web site (as I did not know who she is :rolleyes: ..........And WOW she has the look and technique I would kill for in my paintings. I really should study other peoples work to get inspiration and ideas.
Thankyou from me for introducing me to somebody whos work I could look at for hours a piece.
(shame a bout the wind damage on her hair though (grins) ......only a christmas joke )

Excellent use of colours (except web site mmmmmmmmmmmmm using black for text on dark colours very poor for viewing IMO)

Glad you like her work too. I was beginning to think I must have an unusual taste! I met her at Patchings when her hair wasn't quite so wild! She is a lovely person to talk to and very clever too.
Also, Neil I totally agree about the website, her other website is even worse and I did comment on the size of the images displayed. I think the web design people have now put a clickable thumbnail in for a larger view so they must listen to comments.

Hi Aud, I also like Shirley Trevena. Like you, I met her at Patchings--pre wild hair. Also saw some of her paintings at the Mall Gallery in London. I got a speeding ticket on the collector rd the other day. Be careful going down there. They leave a van with a camera running---B?????!!!!!! £60 down the drain.
