Hi all, I have had a go at the new lesson. I used the last of my tinted paper, I cant remember what the colour is but it looks sort of a peachy/ lemon. You can see what colour the tint is in they sky as this only has blue paint on it. This was another great lesson to do. Thanks Neil for the lesson. :D

Cheers El cheesygrin

I like the way you have used the tint in the paper, beautiful El brings a real glow to the painting.

Excellent use of paper for the glow and this set the scene for the whole painting

Sign and frame as Quills says.

Nice lighting effect and a well balanced painting. More than a fair copy of the lesson, methinks.

I have a small book of tinted paper but am unsure how to paint on it. I suppose it's a bit like negative painting - leaving areas of the undercolour showing through ? ? ? Would be a useful demo if anyone has the know-how.

Thanks all for the encouraging comments. flowerssssssss

Timber, I have only ever painted on tinted paper twice. I used this paper as I could see it would fit the scene well. I would say go for it and try using the paper, its not that different from putting a wash over white paper to give you an under colour.

Hi El,

this really is lovely. Has an almost oasis look to it.

Eluria - February 25, 2006 08:51 PM (GMT)
Thanks Padds and Cherry. I have to admit when I first got the sky on and I started doing the mountains I thought mmmmmmm mybe this paper wasnt right after all as it looked more like a desert. It wasnt untill I got more colour in the mountains that it calmed down a bit. cheesygrin

Hi Eluria this is indeed a very good piece with a lovely feel. I can see your point with the
desert feel it must have created in your mind before you introduced more colour as the hills are very pyramid like in shape. In fact it reminds me of some hills not far from our house.... stuck in the middle of a normal range is a very pyramid shaped hill. Well done and thanks for sharing this with us.
